Embleme German People's Chamber

At long last, another entry to my Greater Germany Series: The Embleme of the German People's Chamber (Deutsche Kammer des Volkes), the highest council of the Greater German Socialist Councl Republic. In 1921, when Germany's first high council formed, the parliamentary building in Frankfurt, the Paul's Church, was deemed to small to fit the new, significantly larger, governing body. Already during the time of the Empire there had been discussions to build a new and larger parliamentary building but finalized plans had been delayed due to the outbreak of the Great War. Plans were made and in 1923 the construction of the new Palace of the Councils (Palast der Räte) began. Situated in Frankfurt's Dornbusch District (where today's radiostation of the state of Hesse are situated and where the city originaly constructed a parliamentary bulidng for the post WWII parliament before Bonn was chosen as the provisional capital) the new seat of government was built in a monumental style, the designs were approved by the first council and was finnished within 3 years. 

The Palace also houses the regular meetings of the Communist International in the Chamber of the International, situated in the upper levels of the building. 

This embleme was designed for use on offical council documents and buildings or rooms used by council members.
