CoA Republic of Louisiana (13 Fallen Stars)

Yet again, I stumbled across a fantastic timeline on althistory wiki: 13 Fallen Stars. In it, the United States fall apart shortly after their formation, resulting in the 13 colonies becoming 6 independent states. The world after that point (of course) is much different. And one big difference is basicaly a very obvious one: The Louisiana Purchase never happened. For those of you who don't know: In 1803 the United States purchased the whole of Louisiana from Imperial France (which itself had just regained the territory after a roughly 40 year interlude of Spanish rule) for a value of roughly 250 Million dollars in today's value (which was a fucking cheaps buy if you ask me considering the US Louisiana Purchase DOUBLED the size of the US). 

In this timeline, two things change: Firstly (and most obviously) the US does not exist, so it can't purchase Louisiana. Secondly, the Empire of France doesn't exist either (due to the French Revolution did not succeed because the US revolution failed too in a sense), so Spain keeps controll of Louisiana.

Until the 1820's that is. French settlers (from French parts of Canada and in the form of fleeing French revolutionaries from the Kingdom of France), increasingly growing dissatisfied with Spanish rule, finaly revolting and creating an independent republic.
